
That was no accident. She very much wanted us to understand and appreciate our good fortune in life, and had very little patience with any kind of whining or self-pity.
And we did have a lot to be grateful for.
We still do.
Even on bad days, I try very hard to remember that. My worst day is undoubtedly a day that many a less fortunate person would gladly trade for any time.
Living with gratitude means you are happier with less. That's a recipe for both mental health and financial well-being.
